Closing the Gate As I Leave

To start off, I'd like to thank everyone whose ever sent me feedback, or written me about my stories.  You'll never know how much that means to me as I've taken this journey.

However, I feel as if I've come to a crossroads in my writing career, and as a result, I've had to make some hard decisions.  As I look back on my involvement in the Smallville/Clex fandom, I have nothing but fond memories; however, if I ever want to move forward and pursue my novel writing, I have to sacrifice other things, and my Clex stories, unhappily, are one of those things.

I do not make this decision lightly, but even as Clark and Lex, who are so dear to me, journey toward their ultimate destinies, so must I.

The garden will stay open and the stories will remain for everyone to enjoy, but there most likely be no new additions, as I now move forward to try my hand at a novel.  Once again, I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me over the past few years, as well as my contemporaries in the fandom, who will no doubt continue to bring you Clark and Lex's adventures.  I wish them, and you, gentle readers, the very best of everything.  God speed.

With best Wishes and Many Thanks,

Shaman

So Far So Good *Warning, Smallville Spoilers*

Hey all you Clexers! Hope the New Year is going good for everyone, as I haven't heard from many of you.

School is going well so far this semester, and my only real complaint is that my university has torn up the parking lot behind the English building to make way for a new parking garage, and the noise and dust is not condusive to the learning enviornment.  It also makes parking a real bitch.

Anyhoo . . . I haven't seen much of season 5 this year because I don't have the WB and can't afford cable.  I did hear about the death of Jonathan Kent though, which made me go "AUGHHH!" Charlie Brown style.  John Schneider was the whole reason I started watching Smallville in the first place, and they go and kill him off! I was pretty unhappy about that, but I did hear that they're developing a new series for John, perhaps a comedy, and I'd like to wish him the very best of luck, as I've had a great affection for him for many years.  *Throwing kisses* We love you, John!

I'm working on several stories, but it's slow going, as I have a huge workload of reading and writing this semester. That's what comes of being an English major, I guess! I will remember to send out an email when I do post something.  In the meantime, I'm still having uploading woes with my vids, and hopefully I'll have time to sort them out soon. In the meantime, take care, keep in touch, and stay safe!

Best Wishes,

Shaman

Happy New Year!

Hey everyone, happy New Year! Wow, the holidays sure went fast for me and the family, and we all had a great Christmas.  I hope you all did, too!

I did publish a Christmas story on the SSA, but it wasn't very well received.  I only got one letter about it, and it's probably because of the time of year.  I do plan to put it up here so you guys won't have to go searching through the SSA database.

I go back to school in two weeks, and the mad whirl begins all over again for me! I hope everyone has a safe, prosperous and happy 2006.

Best Wishes,

Shaman

I Earned My C!

  • Mood: Just Thrilled!
  • Music: Garth Brooks, The Magic of Christmas

Well boys and girls, your intrepid author is happy today! The university posted final grades today, and I passed my algebra final and earned a C in the course, which means I won't have to repeat it! I also got A's in all my English courses, so I'm a happy camper.  No math until the fall!

To celebrate the holidays, I'm writing a Christmas Clex that I hope to post sometime this week.  Stay tuned!

Sprains, Pains, and Cocker Spaniels

Hey all you Clexers!

Well so far, it's been an interesting first week of vacation for your intrepid Clexauthor.  I came home from Christmas shopping yesterday to find that my cocker spaniel mix had gotten herself tangled up in a dead bush near the side of my house.  When I went to yank her trolley line free she jumped forward, and I fell flat on my back, spraining my left wrist and bruising my back to hell.  Of course, my dog just had to climb up my chest and make sure I was ok . . .

After a couple of cold packs and half a bottle of Tylenol, I'm able to type again.  Beware of hyper cocker spaniels and dead bushes, people!

I had time to go to my sister's house today and watch the "Lex-mas" episode of Smallville.  I'm glad they gave us a little Ho-yay, which has been sorely lacking of late.  Anyway, it gave me a few story ideas, and if time permits, I might post a short one-shot Christmas story of my own this week, before the holiday.  As for the episode itself I thought it was terribly sad.  And sure, kill off the only version of Lana that was ever halfway likeable, why don't you!

Anyway, I'm happy to see that traffic is increasing on the site, and that everyone here is enjoying the stories.  Stay tuned!

Cheers,

Shaman

Poetry Page is Up

Well, it's the first weekend of vacation and I haven't gotten too much done, except to update the site a bit (I still had the "Pre-order season 4" banner up!)

I also put up those poems I told you about, and I hope you like them.  Remember, you can always e-mail me about anything on my site, and even suggest something that you might like to see.  Although I usually don't do challenge fics, if you do have something in mind, let me know and maybe it would be possible.

I'm working on this month's coming attractions, so keep checking back, and don't forget to join the mailing list!

Cheers,

Shaman

Winter Break At Last!

  • Mood: Just Chillin'
  • Music: Simple Plan

Christmas vacation is finally here! School is also over for the semester . . . I did pretty well for my first year at university, all A's except for algebra, which I'm still waiting to see if I passed.  Hopefully I got that C that I needed so I can go onto my last math class, and then I'm never counting again!

Now that winter vacation is finally upon me, I'm going to have time to get some writing done.  I'm also adding a new section to the page that will feature some Clexcentric poetry that I've written over the years.  (One of them even won an award last year!)  If there's something you'd like to see, please don't hesitate to post it here, or to e-mail me! I love hearing from you all, and I always answer any mail that I receive.

Until then, take care and be careful out there when you're shopping!

Cheers,

Shaman

New Secret Garden Mailing List

  • Mood: Nervous! (math final tomorrow!)

Hey all you Fellow Clexers! Since I've had so much more traffic on my journal lately and I've been getting a lot of email about my stories, I've decided to offer anyone who wants to be notified about new postings to join my new mailing list.  Just email me and let me know you'd like to be on it, and you'll get an email that tells you whenever I've posted a new story here, or on the SSA.  Please put "Add me to the ClexList" in the subject bar of the email.  (I get a lot of junk sometimes and I don't want to miss anyone.)  With winter break coming, I'll have a whole month off to write, so there will be new stories coming in December and January.

Thanks again, everyone, for your support and encouragement of my work . . . it just makes it all that more worthwhile.  Talk to you again soon!

Cheers,

Shaman

New Story Posted

Hey all! Well next week is finals week here at the University of Tx at El Paso, and I think I'm in pretty good shape.  Pray that I pass that algebra final!

Anyway, I have a new story up at the SSA if you guys are interested, it's called Out of the Black, and its a sequel to my short story Into the Green.  Its also my first established relationship story, so I hope you all like it.  You can either e-mail me or post your thoughts here.  Thanks and happy reading.

Best Wishes,

Shaman

Coming Soon to my Site! Smallville Vids!

Hey all, I was finally able to convince the devil to buy my soul, cheap, so that I could buy a new high speed computer! LOL seriously . . . I did get a new machine, and when winter break comes, I'll be trying my hand at some Smallville vids! They'll be mostly Clex, of course . . . if you have a song that you think might be fit The Clex perfectly, e mail me about it and I'll see what I can do.  Here's a tenative list for what songs I have planned:

Iris: The Goo Goo Dolls

Something to Talk About: Bonnie Raitt

Welcome to my Life: Simple Plan

Against All Odds: Phil Collins

Everything: Lifehouse

If you have one you'd like to add, let me know.  The fall semester is almost over, thank God! Have a safe and prosperous Thanksgiving!

Cheers,

Shaman
